What games in your collection are the oldest or rarest or most valuable or unique? Let's see your prized possession or your guilty pleasures. What game do you have in your collection that you love to show populate? What game do you have in your collection that you don't be anybody to comprehend?Anything signed by the creator? One of a kind?My oldest bet is currently a 1919 version of PIT.
HOw many copies do you want... I undergo rescued so many of these from thrift stores it seems to boggle the mind. A great game but not especially uncommon (at least around here).
I'd disagree. If this is really the 62 version it is quite rare. The 62 version is NOT the one pictured. It is a larger fatter box with a nicer board. It is as rare as the 62 world map change and the tall box Oh-Wah-Ree tall box High Bid and squatty box Phlounder all of which were the first games made by 3M. They toyed with different box sizes and decided on the bookshelf as optimal quite quickly. My entries (as far as rarity) would be each of these. The Acquire is particularly rare and pricey to get (I paid well over $400 on ebay for it)
It's a fairly simple gateway game at this point with a lot of alter and expansion rules in the works. It was designed for use with my daughters who are 10 and 12 so it had to be fairly straight forward. Each player controls 5 characters. Each of your band of five characters uses a different combination of cut for movement and defense. Each character also has a different value. The faster characters undergo a lower value. The player needs to decide which characters to move across the handle first because they ordain be the least amount of opposition in the beginning of the bet. There is a strong possibility that a new hatchling cover ordain appear on each and every turn. The hatchlings are drawn blindly and are placed using coordinate cards. Each Hatchling has a different attack ability and range. The concept is simple and the game compete is fairly simple but gets pretty hectic. Each and every turn usually involves almost every player eventually so it's pretty interactive for how simple it is. We undergo alter rules where you can attack each other and another version where I undergo created an add on deck of protection cards.
Well I suppose every bet designer has the rarest games - his prototypes! I myself have some really interesting gems...
That hopefully will give up their "rare" status and be promoted to "world fame"
I have a write but mine comes with a STORY!!!My grandma used to bring home the bacon at a five and dime in the 60s. One day she bought 3 board games all 3m bookshelf: Acquire. Feudal and Jumpin. abstain Forward to last year. I was cleaning out my confine and I find 3 boxes. What are these? I vaguely bequeath them but don't ever remember taking them out... Sure enough it's those 3 games. Grandma gave them to my mom who stuck them in my confine create "Hmm.. games.. give these to the kid." change is currently a favorite in my assort. Feudal i've only played once. Jumpin is a favorite of mine but causes other peoples' brains to baffle.
I added this game to the database more than 3 years ago and was the only owner of this bet in the database for quite a while. There are currently only 10 other people listed as owning it in the database. A few others that I undergo that are fairly obscure games owned by few players:SmokerjumpersAn interesting solo bet of wildland firefighting. Owned by 55 other BGGers.
SaturnVery nice looking dexterity type game from Theta. Owned by 68 populate.
Tal der KonigeNot to rare but you don't see this one on this side of the Atlantic very often. This is the most obscure game that I'm happiest to have.
My family owns that AC/DC game. I've never played it but my brothers played it when they were younger.
It's essentially a more interesting version of Waterworks that is also educational as well. You don't really learn anything about plumbing playing Waterworks but in this game you do hit the books a thing or two about electrical circuits. I bet it would work well on kids who are looking for a science communicate.
I've got an old copy of this game. Another common oldie is Camelot from around 1930 or so. I think many people have that one. When it comes to rarity. I own a lot of games with no other owner but that's not usually because they're "golden oldies."
I own this and I think it is pretty rare and unique.. and rather old... I've only ever seen one other write and they didn't know how to compete... its a rather fun game in my opinion...-DK
sorry David....3m printed probably 100,000 or more of these and this was the highest selling bet ever produced by Avalon forge (ref their sales figures in a forum thread). AH sold another 100,000+.
This would definitely be exploit but wait there is more... My oldest (I think) would be Contack the 1935 editionI also have a copy of Tal Der Konige and consider it one that is definitely uncommon on this side of the Atlantic. I also have a copy of a British game called.
